Exclusive PRIME Scholar BenefitsWhy are these important?
ScholarshipsReceive $7,500 of scholarship money annually as you pursue a STEM degree.
Special Advisor/Faculty MentorWork closely with a faculty mentor. You are guaranteed to get a STEM faculty member as your first-year academic advisor. You and your advisor will work to tailor your Kalamazoo College experience to your interests.
Summer ResearchGet valuable experience. Summer research provides experience that employers, graduate schools, and professional schools are looking for. There are funded summer research fellowships only available to PRIME Scholars.
Special RecognitionAdd to your resume. With campus recognition and activities only available to PRIME Scholars, you will start building your K Story.
Built-in CommunityMeet new students. Form study groups. Make lasting relationships with professors who are committed to help you succeed in STEM.
Peer MentorsLearn from the insiders. You will have a peer mentor who took the same classes and can give you help in making your transition to college successful.
Field TripsSee STEM in the real world. PRIME Scholars will take trips to local STEM-focused companies to see what you can do with a STEM major. Each PRIME cohort will also make a STEM Trek, a career immersion experience. Your cohort will travel to a major research center and explore STEM careers by meeting with and learning from professionals in the field, often Kalamazoo College alumni and friends.
